Mrs Henry Ffitch ---- one of  very early colonists,  was born in Papanui in 1858,  She was the daughter of Mr George Dunnage  and granddaughter of Rev George Dunnage  the 1st vicar of Papanui.  A teacher by profession,  Miss Dunnage was one of the original staff of Christchurch Girls' High School,  in 1884 she married
Mr Henry Ffitch  of Oxford.  -------

Mr Herbery Cecil Washbourne,  who died last week  ----  known in the Ellesmere district  ----  3rd generation of family  to farm ----  taken up in 1853  by his grandfather Mr Henry John Washbourne  who arrived from Gloucestershire in Sir George Seymour ------   survived by widow   (formerly Miss Rubina LONG) whose family arrived by (Sir Edward Paget)  by 4 sons and 2 daughters.  eldest son Herbert is a member of Air Force.
