  Mr E.Y.Simpson,  of Messrs Simpson and Williams,   stationers and booksellers  -------    aged about 40 ----  came out in the ship Canterbury with his parents, 
                        his father established the business -----    leaves a wife and 2 girls and a boy   about 12 and 10  and the boy about 6 years.  an inquest will be held tomorrow.

There were 130  applications today  for Mount Patriarch,  a small grazing run of 16,020  acres  in the Marlborough district, including several from other provinces. 
                    The successful applicant was Mr H. Tapp,  son of a well-known Blenheim settler.
