TITCHINER - Elijah,  master of Industrial School, Caversham, Dunedin -- b. Bishopstone, Wiltshire,  entered Police Force
                        as a young man --   arr. N.S.W. in 1854  for 2-3yrs  --- came to NZ to Dunedin ---  1866 moved to Tuapeka  in 1868 was gaoler at Lawrence --
                        moved to the Indistrial School in Dec. 1875 --  age 67,  leaves a widow and family of of 5 grown up sons.

CRYER -  Mr Moses,  at his res. Waterford, Southbridge,  age 90,  ----  b. Gloucestershire in 1803 arr. with wife and family in ship "Mary"  to Nelson  in 1849 --
                 came from Wellington with Capt. Thomas  --    opened a butchery in Lyttelton ---    purchased Waterford estate of 500 acres,    nephew in charge who
                drowned in the  Rakaia in 1856 --  leaves 5  surviving daughters -- Mrs Walter Spring,  Mrs Samuel Scott,  Mrs W. McCormick,  Mrs John Gebbie,
                and Miss S. Cryer  Samuel  Scott arr, in Wellington in 1839 came with Mr Cryer to Lyttelton to assist Capt. Thomas  in survey of Christchurch --
                 Mr Scott and Mr Cass are now 2 oldest surviving settlers in Canterbury ----
