the body of an elderly man was found by Mr Peter Annan,  floating in the water,  age about 50, still awaiting identification.

BROWN - George  &  William Turnbull, settlers at Urenui  were drowned while fording   a river ----  age 25 and 30 yrs ---

Fatalities -  004
FEATHERSTONE -   a child age 2  accidentally fell to the ground and injured --- died ----
KNUDSON - 14mth old dau. of Charles,  was accidentally drowned --- 
O'RORKE - Mrs, was a widow with a large family,  and
McINROE - Miss were crossing the Buller River --- both  drowned,    Miss McInroe was a dau. of late Mrs Mitchell --

GUNDERSEN -  boy,  who met with an accident with a tram ---  took a turn for the worse and died  ---

SEY - Mr,  painter,  was knocked from his bicycle  --- escaped with a shaking.
