A steerage passenger by the steamer Te Anau, from
Melbourne, died on board ---- from Dunedin to
Lyttelton, name is M. Ryan was going to friends at
Halcome, near Wellington ------ on the voyage from
Melbourne he was taken worse -----

Dr R.B.Robinson, of Sydenahm, died ---- Dr
Robinson leaves behind many friends ----- arrived in Christchurch
in 1881, appointed house surgeon at Christchurch Hospital --- for

W.J.Roskruge and William Page were drowned in a dam on a
property of a farmer. Mr Page went for a swim and cried for
help. Mr Roskruge went to his assistance ------- both were
drowned.

Rev A.H.Treadwell and Mr William Treadwell, barrister &
solicitor, sons of Rev James Treadwell, pastor of St Paul's
Pres. Church. Miss Lizzie Bell was on her father's
arm and Miss Thea Treadwell
and Miss Nellie Bell were her bridesmaids, whilst Miss Ella
Bell was on her brother's arm, Dr Bell and attended by
Misses Nettie Treadwell and Ethel Bell.

Denny, shipowner, of Dumbarton.

Mr John Hiddleston------ builder and basket
maker, early colonist --- as a young man in
England he entered the ranks of the local preachers of Weslyan
---- Mr Hiddleston arrived in Tasmania in 1852, having been
snet for by his uncle who was then manager of the Commercial Bank
in Hobart. He remained in
Tasmania until 1863 arrivng here in the ship Lady Dennis
on ---- native of South Shields, England, and
married while in Tasmania, his wife died about
15 years ago and has resided with 2 of his sons and a
daughter since then. buried in the Weslyan Cemetery,
Barbadoes St on Thursday afternoon.

returning Home after several years here, and marrying Mr

Snowdale run for some years --- journeyed across Brown's
Pass with a mob of sheep he then remained in Hokitika
while there entered the Post
and Telegrah service about 1870 he was appointed to Cheviot
--- then to Rangiora ----- leaves a widow and 3 young
