inquest adjourned from 17 May  on --- E.Neilson,  D.McLean,  and an unkown,  was resumed -----  drowned on 14 May  through accidental upsetting of City of Perth's lifeboat -----  more ---

---death of Mr James O'Neill,  at Southsea,  England on 24 May,  aged 65,  he was an old Auckland colonist  and formerly a member of the Assembly and Legislative Council.

Roxburgh -  RUGGIERO -  154
A man named John KITTO,  of Miller's Flat.  went to the res. of his son-in-law Joseph Augustus Ruggiero ----  without warning,  fired a shot through the window at Ruggiero--  the screams of his wife  attracted her brother-in-law   Peter KLOGH   who happened to be passing,  Kitto shot him also,  Ruggiero died a short time later.   
Klogh was also a son-in-law of Kitto.
