Inquest   -  002
FUSSELL -  Aaron,  farmer,  Tai-Tapu, was killed by falling from his dray last Friday  ----     accidental death  returned.

Sudden Death  -  003
MOORE  -  Mr W. Moore,  chief letter carrier in Christchurch  for many years  -----  an inquest will be held today.


Thursday 2 December  1875
Bluff  -  ship  ADAMANT 004
5 deaths occurred during passage.  The Captain died about 6 weeks ago.  The vessel has not yet anchored.

MOORE  -  William George Moore ----     died from natural causes.

New Masonic Lodge  -  007
A new Lodge under Scotch constitution was consecrated at Lyttelton   under the title  Canterbury Kilwinning Lodge.
Bro. A.Taylor was presented and duly installed as First Master of the Lodge

HILL - Mr Hill, master of the Bingsland School,  promoted to the Main School  --- handsome clock and pearl-handled knife.

LILLY  -  Jane,  residing at the Sandhills, had a narrow escape from drowning in the river Avon near the Avonside Church  ---  more  ----

PARISH  -  Mr W. Parish selling a valuable property on the Ferry road, known as New Cambridge -----  estate of 50 acres --- 88 building sites ---   more -----

New Zealand Shipping Co  -  013
WAIMATE  and CAEMARTHENSHIRE  have arrived in Port Chalmers ---  former with 330 immigrants,  87 days out from Torbay. latter brings
                        27 passengers and cargo.

MURRAY -  James,  a boy aged 8 years  -------  Sophia MILLAN -- boy placed in her charge by the  father for 12mths  ------  he sent no monies
                        sent to the industrial School  for 6 years.

GARDINER -  a lad,  was drowned by falling into the river  at Mataura ---
LANSEIGNE -  M.  who died this year has been left 80,000 pounds by the death of a relative.

Timaru  -  Accident  -  043
ORMSBY - Mr and Mrs Ormsby with their infant  were driving on Burke's Pass rd when an accident happened -- child thrown out of the trap, little girl died later.

Accident at Sumner  -  044
WALLS -  a girl about 5 years old dau. of Mr Thomas Walls,  Selwyn st,  was knocked down and severely inured by a horseman at Sumner on Christmas Day
                    -- 4 men named William Attwood,  R.DixonPeter Duncan,  and W.Bennett were racing on horseback on the beach ----   little girl will be ok

LYON  - Charles,  4 men bathing in the river at Riverton  --- Charles Lyon, a butcher was drowned,  leaves a wife and 4 children.
