5 deaths occurred during passage. The Captain died about 6 weeks
ago. The vessel has not yet anchored.

New Masonic Lodge - 007
A new Lodge under Scotch constitution was consecrated at
Lyttelton under the title Canterbury Kilwinning Lodge.

their infant were driving on Burke's Pass rd when an accident
happened -- child thrown out of the trap, little girl died later.

years old dau. of Mr Thomas Walls, Selwyn st, was knocked
down and severely inured by a horseman at Sumner on Christmas Day
-- 4 men named William Attwood, R.Dixon, Peter Duncan, and W.Bennett were racing on horseback
