SHEPARD - Mr W.H. prop. of the coaches from Wanganui to New Plymouth.  -----   thrown from the coach --  kicked by the horse  -----died at Wanganui
JACKSON -  a shoemaker of Blenheim  has died  -----
MORTON -  Thomas  a miner form Greymouth  has drowned ----
BARBOUR -Alexander  buried in a claim at Moonlight diggings  Peter dell  was recovered  injured  but alive.

  -   At the inquest on Mr Cohen,  the verdict was suicide by taking strychnine, whilst under great mental excitement.

KEENS
  -  The Alhambra left Melbourne on the 21st inst. at 3pm and arrived at the Bluff at 1-30pm.  A Mr J.A.Keens,  saloon passenger,
                    died from inflamation of the brain on the 25th.

HOWROYD -  Martha,  wife of Jesse Howroyd who is at work in Wellington,  -----  more  --- an inquest will be held.

Death Overboard  -  JOHNSTON - 028a
The schooner Kaiuma,  Captain Maule,  of this port, arrived at Hokitika yesterday from Wanganui and that the report by Captain Toomey
of the "Lady Don" is verified.    The Cook  - Alexander  Johnston,   a native of Aberdeen was washed overboard but particulars are not to hand.

Serious Accident  -  029
McDONALD - Mr,  Government Surveyor last Saturday ---  riding down Riccarton Road  ----- horse threw him 3 times ---  feared he will lose sight of an eye.

Transfer of License  -  030
SEXTON - Cornelius, of Railway Hotel, L yttelton  -------    to  Edward Dudley.
