Port Chalmers   -   arrival of the - ARAWA  -

The Arawa via Capetown and Hobart,  left Plymouth at 5pm on August 15 , arrived at Teneriffe at 8.40am on August 20 and left again at 7.10pm. 
Had moderate winds and fine weather to Capetown,  arriving at 5.30pm on Sept. 6.  Had strong South and South -east winds,  with high mountainous
seas,  until Sept. 17,   thence moderate south-west to north-west winds.  Crossed the meridian of Cape Lewin on Sept. 21,  reached Hobart at 9.20 am
on the 26th,  left at 8.30pm on the same day and reached Taiaroa Heads at 2am today.
Passage  44 days 21 hours and 32 minutes.  Total steaming time 43 days.  She brings 2689 tons of cargo and 242 passengers  who all enjoyed excellent
health.   Prior to her entering the Heads the passengers presented Captain Stuart,  Mr Pembroke, and the officers with  testimonials.

26 steerage,  and 800 tons of cargo.
