A steerage passenger  by the steamer Te Anau,  from Melbourne,  died on board ----  from Dunedin  to Lyttelton,  name is M. Ryan  was going to friends at Halcome,  near Wellington ------  on the voyage from Melbourne he was taken worse -----

A married woman,  Mrs Keenan,  was found dead in a water-race at Rimu -----     apparantly fell over a bank --------

Death of Dr ROBINSON  -  008  & 009
Dr R.B.Robinson,  of Sydenahm,  died ----   Dr Robinson leaves behind many friends -----  arrived in Christchurch in 1881,  appointed house surgeon at Christchurch Hospital --- for 4 years ----  then went into  private practice in Sydenham,  ----  lost his wife early this year ---  leaves 1 son,  aged 17 --- 
inquest held today  ------

Sudden death of Dr Robinson -  010
----  under accidents & Fatalities will be found  recorded the sudden death of Dr Robinson ------

Auckland -  LINCOLN  -  011
A young man named C. Lincoln,  a cadet on Mangahare farm, near Mercer,   accidently shot himself  in the stomach -----  removed to Auckland Hospital.

Hugh Newth,  aged 17  was drowned whilst bathing in the Manawatu River -----

Hawera  -  ROSKRUGE,   PAGE  -  014
W.J.Roskruge  and William Page  were drowned in a dam on a property of a farmer.  Mr Page went for a swim and cried for help.  Mr Roskruge went to his assistance -------  both were drowned.

during the voyage of the barque Lutterworth,  arrived in Wellington from Liverpool,  Dr Williams,  who was a passenger,  died and was buried at sea.  
accompanied by his wife and 4 children  ----  intended to practice in Whangarei  --------.

------   the brides were sisters,  the daughters of Mr Peter Bell ------  and the bridegrooms were brothers,  the Rev A.H.Treadwell  and Mr William Treadwell,  barrister & solicitor,  sons of Rev James Treadwell,  pastor of St Paul's Pres. Church.   Miss Lizzie Bell  was on her father's arm  and Miss Thea Treadwell
and Miss Nellie Bell  were her bridesmaids,  whilst Miss Ella Bell was on her brother's arm,  Dr Bell  and attended by Misses Nettie Treadwell  and Ethel Bell. 
 -- niece and nephew of the brides  Miss Donnie Bruce  and Master Harvey Bell  also attended the party. -------  more  ------

On Tuesday evening the sailmaker of the NZ Shipping Co's ship Wairoa,  John Jeune,  a native of Jersey Island,  met with injuries which caused his death. ------  single man,  aged 24 years  ----  an inquest will be held.

Mr Alfred Douglass,  Sheep Inspector for South Canterbury,  died today  ----  he was 54.

-- fire broke out in Mr I.H.Pentecost's house in Stanmore Road---   and 2 adjourning houses  were burned to the ground,  and 2 others badly damaged --- 
time to get his family out ----  when the brigade arrived  a  4 roomed cottage occupied by Mr T. Nevin ----  and a 10 roomed house  owned by Mr Virtue 
and occupied by Mr J. Biltcliff,  were in serious danger ---  long column  -----

The name of the man who accidently shot Miss Keating  ----   the victim is doing as well as can be expected.

Obituary  -  WATT  -  057
---  death ---  at the age of 54,  of Mr James McNeight Watt ---   Mr Watt and his 2 brothers commenced business in the Colony as general storekeepers 
and the firm Watt Bros became noted  as farm produce merchants.  ----  Christchurch Meat Company was formed ----  and the Islington Freezing Works 
started ---  native of Belfast ---  buried at Addington Cemetery  tomorrow.

----- death of  Mrs Little,   who with her husband George Little  and 5 small children  embarked last Thursday  in the s.s. Doric  for New Zealand. ---
the smallest child  14mths old ---  Mrs Little was 30 years old -- George Little comes from Glasgow ------  more ----

----  Mr Claude John Willis,  eldest son of Captain R.B.Willis,  of Southbridge,  was joined in matrimony  with Miss Elizabeth Irving,  daughter of Dr Irving, 
of Christchurch ----  Miss Edith Irving,    Miss May Willis  and Misses Hannah and Mabel Irving acted as bridesmaids  and Mr William Willis as best man.

CULLEY -  Stuart,  at Hopai,  Pelorous Sound,  was killed on Saturday,  crushed by a falling tree.
LUCAS  -  Henry,  on Sunday,  a fisherman,  was drowned ---  off  Humbug Point,  Queen Charlotte Sound  ----  leaves a wife and 4 children.

--  a fatal accident to Jas. leslie,  an apprentice on the ship Westland.  on the voyage Home  from Wellington,  14 days out in a terrible gale,  young Leslie fell 
from the main yard ----- he was the son  of the late Captain Peter Leslie,  of the ship Canterbury  and a neaphew of Mr Peter Denny,  shipowner,  of Dumbarton.

McKIE  -  Mr   of Ashburton  was riding across the ashburton bridge  his horse slipped and fell  --------

---  F.W.Delamain,  of Christchurch -----    had been a lessee of the Stanley Vale,  sheep run Amuri, until March last -------  Government  did not renew
his lease,  run comprised of 32,000 acres  ----    he attributed his bankruptcy to rabbits,  the low price of wool  and the high rent of the run.

HANMER  -  Mr Humphrey ----  died from a stroke ---   the Hanmer Plains district,  Canterbury  is called after him.

Inquest   -  HIDDLESTON  -  071
Mr John Hiddleston------  builder  and basket maker,    early colonist ---  as a young man in England he entered the ranks of the local preachers of Weslyan ----  Mr Hiddleston arrived in Tasmania in 1852,  having been snet for by his uncle  who was then manager of the Commercial Bank in Hobart.  He remained in
Tasmania until 1863  arrivng here in the ship  Lady Dennis on  ----  native of South Shields,  England,  and married  while in Tasmania,  his wife died about
15 years ago  and has resided with 2 of his sons and a daughter  since then.  buried in the Weslyan Cemetery,  Barbadoes St  on Thursday afternoon.

Mr George Buckham,  who had charge of the local Post and telegraph office  for over 19 years. ------   in early life had several experiences at sea ---   
afterwards he entered into the firm of Peto and Betts,  railway contractors of Bradford,  England --- remained ther 7-8 years till 1862 when owing to
Mr T.S.MANNERING  returning Home  after several years here,  and marrying Mr Buckham's sister ----   came to New Zealand  --- managed the
Snowdale run  for some years ---  journeyed across Brown's Pass with a mob of sheep   he then remained in Hokitika  while there entered the Post
and Telegrah service  about 1870  he was appointed to Cheviot ---  then to Rangiora  -----  leaves a widow and 3 young children.   ---  a long column -----
