Sale of Glynn Wye Station  -  001   page 2
Count De Lapasture  has sold his Glynn Wye Station and stock  to  Mr W.A.LOW,  of the Clarence station  for -----   property consists of 8538 acres freehold,  28,938 acres leasehold  and 13,249  acres  license-hold  with 18,000 sheep,  some cattle,  and horses,  and the usual plant and station stores given in.

The funeral of the late Mr P. Kerr,  took place on Sunday afternoon ----  respect to an old colonist ----  67 vehicles and 48 horesmen ----   to the Scotch Cemetery,  Addington.

about 2 weeks ago a little fellow about 6years old  was drowned while bathing on the beach at Oamaru.  On Wednesday a body was washed up on the shingle ------   not identified yet.

---  Harry Smith,  who died on Saturday  ------ Robert Cole  disposed that deceased had been staying at the Lyttelton Hotel -----  on and off
for the last 3 years ---  thought he was about 32 years old ---  was a sea-faring man ---  employed at the Piolt station for about a year ---  left the Pilot
service in January ---  John Ernest  deposed  he lived at Central Hotel,  Christchurch ---   died from heart disease.

Mr A. Bennett, who resides at Carleton,  near Oxford,  met with a severe accident yesterday   ----  driving in a trap alongside the railway when the evening
train was passing -----   After the train got ahead of him,  his horse swerved and threw him out on to the railway line -----   badly bruised around the head -------

A little boy, age 6 years,  son of Mr John Thompson,  surveyor,  had a narrow escape from being killed while returning from the Sports.  ---  3 men
riding furiously on horseback  rode down North st,  and ran him over him,  he was quite insensible when picked up,  one horse trampled on his head
and also broke his arm  ----   latest news boy is not out of danger,  his head being one mass of bruises and the broken arm lost all sense of feeling.

Mr Johnston of Russell's Flat,  had 2 stacks of oats destroyed by fire on Thursday. ---     the threshing machine belonging to Mr William Cook

A serious accident happened on Saturday  to a mna named Prophet,  working in Sladden's Bush,  Oxford.  - he had been felling a tree and just as
it was coming down  he -- trying to get out of its way,  ran right under it  and was severley crushed.  -------  thigh was broken,

an inquest at  ---  death of John Bowers -- died Saturday morning.  was in Dunedin Hospital for a few days  -----   was sent to Christchurch  --- 
dying from Typhoid fever

A verdict of accidental death was returned ---  a rider was added blaming the Government for supplying unsafe and unsuitable engines and trucks to contractors.

Jacob Cox,  was found dead in his bed  in the hospital  -----   an inquest will probably be held this afternoon.

DUFF  -  Mr entering Timaru in a single buggy --run into by a trap --  Mr Duff thrown out --
DINNELL -  son  of Mr Dinnell, tailor,  age 5yrs   fell into a tank -- drowned  -  an inquest was held ---

NEVILLE  -  William,  of Timaru,  aged about 40 died   ----  inquest  died of heart disease.
ROBSON    -  Henry Moffatt, of Lincoln,  knocked down a girl named Christina Robson -- only slightly injured  ---  more --

a terrible accident on the branch line of railway between Mosgiel  and Outram  on Saturday ---  lots  more ----   Alexander Clark,  aged 27 a native
of Port stewart,  Londonderry, Ireland. was killed.   He was married,  resided at North Taieri.   William JONES,  who rode on the left side of the engine 
was pinned  to the ground and had to be dug out,    David HENDERSON who  stood next to Jones was caught on the step of the engine ------  
6 of the principal sufferers  were removed by stretchers  -----   the names of the 4 men  besides  Jones  and Henderson  were  conveyed to town 
were  as follows:  John Fleming;    John Hoscroft;    Frederick Dodd;      Charles FAULKENER.   -------  later  ---

Mr Wallace  died in the Timaru hospital ---    wh ing the  duty of No 2  at the gun  Wallace mistook the the order to fire  for the order to load ----- 
No 5 acting  to the order of fire,  and not noticing Wallace  -----   Lieut Wardl(e)  was in charge at the time but no blame was attached to
 anyone of the company.

John Wallace,  who met with death from firing of the Royal Salute on Thursday, was buried today with military honours,  the Temuka Rifle Volunteers attending.

J.F.Nixon,  who lately came to Timaru and purchased a section of land at Woollcombe Gully,  was found dead  -----  gun he was carrying  -------  by
 one of Mr Pringle's milkmen -----  Nixon formerly belonged to the army,  was an elderly man and lived by himself in a small house on his section,  his
only relation known is a daughter at the High School in Dunedin,  an inquest was held ---   accidental death  returned.
